PreS-Gr 2-Lou Stratten, Los Angeles-based children's performer and star of a local television program, The Fretti and Lou Show®, makes her recording debut with this album of nine songs. Accompanied by "lion-bear" Fretti, her puppet sidekick, Stratten leads listeners through a series of songs that invite participation (and that will therefore be extremely useful for librarians planning story times). The themes and unhurried pace of songs like "Can You Count with Me?," "Wow! It's Raining," and "Fly High All Around the Room" lend themselves especially well to use with very young children, and showcase Stratten's friendly demeanor and knack for songwriting that both entertains and educates.
